Russia’s ferrous metal exports up 12 percent in November over October

Russia's ferrous metal exports in November last year increased by 12 percent month on month to 2.5 million mt, according to the Russian Federal Customs Service.
 
In particular, in the given period Russia's pig iron exports increased by 304,000 mt to 593,000 mt, while flat steel exports rose by almost 50 percent to 780,000 mt, both compared to October.
 
In the January-November period last year, Russia's rolled steel product exports amounted to 25.6 million mt, pig iron exports totaled 4 million mt and ferroalloys exports amounted to 63,000 mt. On the other hand, Russian flat steel product imports from CIS countries in the given period decreased by 8.9 percent, while Russia's imports of steel pipes from these countries decreased by 50.2 percent, both year on year.
