Russia’s ferrous metal export volume down 8.8 percent in Jan-Aug

In the January-August period of the current year, Russia's ferrous metal export volume decreased by 8.8 percent year on year to 24.03 million mt, including 2.226 million mt of pig iron, down 10.5 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). The total value of Russia's ferrous metal exports in January-August this year was $13.103 billion, down 16 percent year on year.

In the January-August period this year, Russia's ferrous metal imports increased by 4.4 percent year on year to 4.366 million mt, including 603,900 mt of steel tubes, up 19.2 percent year on year. The total value of Russia's ferrous metal imports in January-August this year was $3.967 billion, down 4.1 percent year on year.
