Russia’s CPI up 1.1%

Russia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.1% month on moth in April, said the Russia's Federal Statistics Office. CPI increased from 4.6% in the January-April 2004 period to 6.5% In January-April 2005 period. Analysts suggest that after this data, it will be hard for the Russian government to meet its target for the year of keeping inflation at 10%. Food prices saw an increase of 6.7% in the first four months of the year while non-food goods prices experienced a rise of 1.6%.
