According to the data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), in the first half of 2010 steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 20.4 percent to 35.6 million mt, shipments of iron and manganese ore went up by 11.5 percent to 49.7 million mt, shipments of ferrous scrap rose by 45.7 percent to 9.2 million mt, while shipments of coke increased by 47.3 percent to about 6.4 million mt, all compared to the same period last year.
In June this year, as compared to the same month last year, steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 13.1 percent, shipments of ferrous scrap went up by 25 percent, shipments of coke rose by 14.7 percent, and iron and manganese ore shipments increased by 0.8 percent.
In H1 2010, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 12.2 percent year on year to 584.6 million mt.
