Russian FAS approves Evraz acquisition of Raspadskaya

Further to its announcement on October 4, 2012, Russia-based steelmaking and mining giant Evraz has announced that it has received pre-transfer merger clearance from the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in connection with the acquisition of an indirect controlling interest in Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, and its subsidiaries.
 
Completion of the acquisition is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2013.
