Russian export of ferrous metals is decreasing

According to statistical data released by the Federal Custom Service, the total Russian export revenue of ferrous metal in January 2006 decreased by 23.5 percent in comparison with the same month of 2005. The revenue from export of Russia's ferrous metal in January amounted to $1.14 billion, against $1.49 billion during the same period a year ago. In total, Russia exported 3.52 million tons of ferrous metal, 406,700 tons of cast iron and 48.4 thousand tons of ferroalloy.
