Russian crude steel output rises in Q1

In the first three months of 2007, Russia registered a 7.3 percent increase in its crude steel production and a 0.8 percent increase in its pig iron and ferroalloy output year on year.

The respective figures in metric tons were 18.2 million and 12.9 million.

In addition, during the period in question, Russia produced 12.9 million metric tons of semi-finished products, showing an 11.2 percent increase.
