Russian coal production down 1.8 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of the current year, coal production in Russia decreased by 1.8 percent year on year to 113.085 million mt, including 26.8 million mt of coal produced in April, down 9.8 percent compared to April 2013, according to Russia's Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy sector.

In the January-April period this year, Russian coal exports increased by 11.5 percent year on year to 48.986 million mt, while Russian coal imports declined by 13.5 percent to 9 million mt.
