As of February 7, 2011, Russia utilized 6.45 percent of its new steel export quota of 3,264,057 mt allocated to it by the European Union (EU) for the current year.
According to the latest figures, Russia exported a total of 210,482 mt of steel products to the EU in the current year up to February 7, including 192,046 mt of flat steel products (i.e., about 8.3 percent of the allotted 2,309,931 mt) and 18,436 mt of long steel products (i.e., 1.94 percent of the allotted 954,126 mt).
