As of April 1, 2011, Russia utilized 16.3 percent of its new steel export quota of 3,264,057 mt allocated to it by the European Union (EU) for the current year.
According to the latest figures, Russia exported a total of 531,670 mt of steel products to the EU in the current year up to April 1, including 471,663 mt of flat steel products (i.e., about 20.4 percent of the allotted 2,309,931 mt) and 60,007 mt of long steel products (i.e., 6.3 percent of the allotted 954,126 mt).
