Russia ups pig iron output 1.6 percent

According to Rudprom data, Russia increased pig iron output 1.6 year on year percent to 8.34 million tons in January-February 2006 period. Thus, Severstal increase output of pig iron 11.3 percent, MMK 10.9 percent, Zapodno-Siberian Iron Work 17.4 percent, Chusovsk Plant 2.7 percent, Satkinsk Plant 15.4 percent. At the same period, Novolipetsk Iron Work reduced in pig iron output 1.1 percent, Nijnetagilsk Iron Work 9.8 percent, Novokuznetsk Iron Work 12.4 percent, Ural Steel 0.2 percent.
