Russia ups iron ore exports in Jan-Oct

According to the operational data released by Rudprom – Association of Russian Iron Ore Producers- during the January-October 2006 period, Russia saw a 17.4 percent year on year increase in iron ore exports to 19.2 million metric tons. In particular, during the period in question Russia exported 6.67 million metric tons of concentrate- up 21.3 percent, 11.13 million metric tons of pellets – up 16.7 percent, 568,000 metric tons of agglomerate- down 1.4 percent, and 844,000 metric tons of briquettes- up 12.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year. To Ukraine, Russia shipped 2.04 million metric tons of iron ore, including 568,000 metric tons of agglomerate, 982,000 metric tons of concentrate and 457,000 metric tons of briquettes in the first ten months of 2006.
