Russia supplies 651,000 mt of steel to EU in Q1

In the first quarter of the current year, Russia supplied 650,938 mt of steel products to European Union (EU) countries, using 19.5 percent of its annual quota of 3.346 million mt, as reported by the Russian customs authorities. In particular, in the given period Russia exported 337,300 mt of SA1 hot rolled coil (HRC), 69,400 mt of SA2 steel plate, 128,900 mt of SA3 flat steel, 32,100 mt of SA4 alloy steel, SA5 sheet and SA6 coated flat steel, 34,200 mt of SB2 rod and 49,000 mt of SB3 long steel to the EU.

In 2011, Russia supplied 1.898 million mt of steel products to the EU, using 54.39 percent of its annual quota.
