Russia supplies 1.1 million mt of steel to EU in Jan-May

In January-May of the current year, Russia supplied 1.109 million mt of steel products to European Union (EU) countries, using 33.14 percent of its annual quota of 3.346 million mt, as reported by the Russian customs authorities.

In particular, in the given period Russia exported to the European Union 644,423 mt of SA1 hot rolled coil (HRC), 100,550 mt of SA2 steel plate, 197,400 mt of SA3 flat steel, 40,500 mt of SA4 alloy steel, SA5 sheet and SA6 coated flat steel, 47,800 mt of SB2 rod and 78,455 mt of SB3 long steel.

In 2011, Russia supplied 1.898 million mt of steel products to the EU, using 54.39 percent of its annual quota.
