Russia sees decline in iron ore production

Russia's iron ore production fell 0.9 percent year on year to 71.56 million metric tons in the first nine months of 2005. Russia produced 4.26 million metric tons of sinter, down 0.6 percent year on year. On the other hand, iron ore concentrate production rose 0.7 percent to 69.6 million metric tons and pellet production increased 2.8 percent to 26.6 million metric tons.
