Russian State Duma considers imposition of moratorium on imports of scrap from Ukraine as a preemptive measure against possible imports of dangerous radioactive scrap. The main reason for imposition of such measures is a threat of appearance of radioactive scrap on the territory of Russian Federation since, as Mr. Grachev, the head of State Duma Ecological Committee commented, Ukrainian government does absolutely nothing to prevent the spread of radioactive scrap from Chernobyl region.
