Russia issues January-April production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the first four months of the current year Russia registered a 7.1 percent rise in its rolled steel product output to 20.9 million mt, a 4.3 percent increase in its crude steel output to 23.9 million mt and a 5.7 percent rise in its pig iron production to 16.9 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a 14 percent decrease year on year in its steel pipe production to 3 million mt.

In addition, in January-April Russia produced 114 million mt of coal and 9 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 5.6 percent and 0.5 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.
