Russia increases steel output

Russia's Federal Statistics Service disclosed that the country's finished steel output rose 1 percent year on year to 49.6 million metric tons in the first eleven months of 2005. Furthermore, steel pipe production increased 8.8 percent year on year to 6.1 million metric tons. Iron ore output dropped 3 percent year on year to 86.2 million metric tons. However, coal production rose 4.9 percent to 268 million metric tons.
