Rio Tinto to increase iron ore output slightly in 2011

Australian mining giant Rio Tinto Group has announced that it plans to increase its iron ore production slightly to 240 million mt in the current year.

In 2010, Rio Tinto's iron ore output totaled 239 million mt. Sam Walsh, chief executive officer of Rio Tinto's iron ore division, said the company also plans to hike its annual iron ore output capacity to 333 million mt by the middle of 2015.
