Rig count unchanged in US, up again in Canada

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending August 30, the US rig count was unchanged at 1,776, compared to a 15-rig decrease last week. The rig count was also down 118 from 1,894 rigs during the same week a year ago. The oil rig count increased by six to 1,388, while the gas rig count fell by seven to 380.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count was up another 16 this past week to 399, compared to a 25-rig increase a week ago. The rig count was up 83 from 316 rigs during the same week a year ago.
