Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending April 12, the US rig count increased by 33 to 1,771, following a 10-rig decrease a week ago. During the week, the oil rig count rose by 30 to 1,387 while the gas-directed rig count was up two to 377 rigs.
Meanwhile, Canada's rig count fell by 50 to 156 rigs, following a 40-rig decrease the previous week. Oil rigs in Canada accounted for 34 of the drop this week, while gas rigs comprised the remaining 16.
