Rescission of CVD review on imports of certain wire rods from Canada

Tags: | similar articles »

The Department of Commerce (DOC) on October 22, 2002 initiated countervailing duty on imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rods from Canada. DOC, on November 28, 2003 initiated administrative review of the countervailing duty on imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rods from Canada, upon the request for a review filed by Canadian producer Ispat Sidbec Inc on October 30, 2003. The period of review is February 8, 2002 through December 31, 2002. However DOC, on January 23, 2004 announced that it revoked the countervailing duty order on imports of subject merchandise from Canada. As the revocation is effective for all unliquidated entries of the subject merchandise imported from Canada as of February 8, 2002, and Ispat Sidbec, on January 26, 2004 withdrew its request for a review, DOC has recently announced that it rescinded the administrative review of the countervailing duty order, which was initiated on November 28, 2003.
