In the January-July period this year, total real estate investments in China amounted to RMB 5.0381 trillion ($0.815 trillion), up 13.7 percent year on year, with this growth rate down 0.4 percentage points compared to the year-on-year increase rate recorded in the January-June period of the current year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on August 13.
Investments in residential dwellings in China in the first seven months this year amounted to RMB 3.4365 trillion ($0.556 trillion), up 13.3 percent year on year, accounting for 68.2 percent of total real estate investments in the country during the given period.
In the January-July period, new commercial real estate sold in China covered a total area of 564.8 million m2, down 7.6 percent on year-on-year basis. The total area covered by new residential buildings sold in China in January-July was down 9.4 percent, the total area covered by new office buildings sold decreased by 4.9 percent, while the total area of new commercial business space sold during the given period was up 7.4 percent, all year on year.
