Raw coal output in Inner Mongolia up 17.5 percent in Jan-Apr

According to China's National Energy Administration, in the January-April period of the current year the total production of raw coal in the country's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached 335.4 million mt, up 17.5 percent year on year.

During the first four months of the year, Inner Mongolia imported 5.83 million mt of coal, rising by 17.5 percent from the corresponding period of 2011. Meanwhile, in the given period, the region's total sales volume of coal came to 340 million mt, including 334.2 million mt of domestic production coal and 5.8 million mt of imported coal.

During the period in question, 214.2 million mt of coal were delivered from Inner Mongolia to other regions in China, an increase of seven percent year on year. In particular, 66.4 percent were delivered by railway, while 33.6 percent were delivered via highways.
