Raspadskaya’s coal output up six percent in Q2 from Q1

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, has announced that in the second quarter this year its raw coal production volume increased by six percent quarter on quarter to 3.07 million mt.

In the second quarter, Raspadskaya’s coking coal concentrate sales decreased by one percent to 1.67 million mt, including domestic sales of 555,000 mt, down 18 percent, while export sales of coking coal concentrate increased by 10 percent to 1.11 million mt as a result of the company’s efforts to maximize shipments, all on quarter-on-quarter basis.

According to Raspadskaya’s statement, in the given quarter coal product sale prices were down compared to the first quarter in line with global benchmarks, but were still up in year-on-year terms.
