Qingdao Steel achieves positive sales results with high-end products

Wang Junting, chairman of Shandong Province-based Chinese steel producer Qingdao Steel, has stated that in the context of fierce competition in steel industry, Qingdao Steel has been putting increased focus on developing high-technology and high value-added products so as to achieve fast and sustainable development of the enterprise.

According to the latest figures, of Qingdao Steel's 2009 production, high-end products accounted for 79.03 percent, with the remaining percentage accounted for by low value-added varieties such as construction steel. Meanwhile, the producer's sales revenues for 2009 totaled RMB 30 billion ($4.4 billion).
