Proven coal reserves of major mining areas in Hami, Xinjiang total 200 billion mt

According to the Development and Reform Commission of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, after more than two years of geological exploration the proven coal reserves of seven major mining areas near the city of Hami in Xinjiang total about 200 billion mt. Meanwhile, prospective reserves of the areas in question exceed 570.8 billion mt, equal to 31.7 percent of the total for Xinjiang and 12.5 percent of the total for China

According to the long-term planning of the authorities in Hami, local coal output is expected to reach 200 million mt within the coming five years.
