Price increase by US mill AK Steel on stainless products

AK Steel reported that they are going to hike prices of stainless steel products by around 3% for shipments from February 2 initially, then again by 3% to be effected on shipments from March 1 onwards. As many other steel mills, AK Steel said that this price increase will serve to meet material increases in costs of feedstock, energy and freight. This price increase, covering stainless steel sheets, strips and plates, will not be implemented to orders previously booked by a price agreement. As reported by SteelOrbis in mid January, AK Steel announced surcharge for electrical sheet and strip products coupled with increase in hot rolled, cold rolled and coated steel prices.
