Preliminary results of AD review on certain WR from Canada
Upon requests of the petitioners –ISG Georgetown Inc., Gerdau Ameristeel US Inc., Keystone Consolidated Industries Inc., and North Star Steel Texas Inc.– and the respondents –Ivaco and Ispat Sidbec– the US Department of Commerce (DOC), on November 19, 2004, initiated an administrative review of an antidumping duty order on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod imported from Canada. The review covered the period October 1, 2003, through September 30, 2004. The DOC preliminarily determined that sales of subject merchandise by Ivaco Inc. and Ivaco Rolling Mills (IRM) (collectively Ivaco) and Ispat Sidbec Inc. (Ispat) (now known as Mittal Canada Inc. (Mittal)) have been made below normal value. The following weighted-average dumping margins exist for the period October 1, 2003, through September 30, 2004:Producer/exporter Margin Ivaco......................................2.96% Ispat......................................6.27%Until the final results are published, the current dumping duty deposit rates will remain in effect. The dumping duty deposit rates are 4.16 percent for Ivaco, and 3.86 percent for Ispat Sidbec. Interested parties are requested to comment on the preliminary results.
