The US Department of Commerce (DOC) officially announced its affirmative preliminary determination Tuesday in the antidumping investigation of diffusion-annealed, nickel-plated flat-rolled steel products from Japan.

The DOC calculated the following preliminary weighted-average dumping margins: 47.80 percent for Toyo Kohan Co., Ltd.; 77.70 percent for Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation; and 47.80 percent for all other Japanese producers and exporters.

Accordingly, effective November 19, 2013, US Customs and Border Protection will require the cash deposit of estimated dumping duties in the above amounts for entries diffusion-annealed, nickel-plated flat-rolled steel products from Japan.

The DOC is scheduled to make its final determination in this investigation by April 3, 2014.
