South Korean steel producer POSCO Specialty Steel is scheduled to conduct its large-scale facility repair works from late August to early September.

Apart from its second-stage facility streamlining works, POSCO Specialty Steel will carry out large-scale regular facility repair works at each of its mills during this period.

Its steelmaking facilities will be repaired for 10 days from August 26 to September 4. The company will replace not only the refractories of its 100-mt electric furnace, but also the chambers of its refining and continuous casting facilities with new ones and will repair the structures of the related mills. Its repair works of its wire rod production facilities will be carried out from August 24 to September 9.

Meanwhile, POSCO Specialty Steel is pushing forward with its facility streamlining works for the second-stage growth of the company, under a total budget of KRW 424.5 billion. The company is expecting that its annual production capacity will increase by 250,000 mt from the current level of 750,000 mt, if it finishes its new facility streamlining works as planned.
