Polish coking coal producer JSW’s sales revenues decrease in H1

Europe's largest coking coal producer Poland-based Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa SA (JSW) has announced its financial results for the first half of the current year, reporting a net loss of PLN 148.4 million ($37.9 million), compared to a net loss of PLN 623.5 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. JSW's sales revenues decreased by 17.4 percent year on year to PLN 2.89 billion ($739.8 million). The company's EBITDA in the first half amounted to PLN 300.8 million ($76.9 million), rising from the EBITDA of PLN 15 million recorded in the first half of 2015.
 
JSW Poland's coal output in the first half this year amounted to 8.58 million mt, up 10.4 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s coal sales to external customers increased by five percent to 5.49 million mt, while its coal sales revenues to external customers decreased by 21 percent to PLN 1.37 billion ($352.7 million), both compared to the same period of 2015.
