Pohang, S. Korea to host steel sector at Steel Expo

Pohang city in South Korea's North Gyeongsang Province will host the 1st International Steel Expo at Pohang Sports Complex, Cultural Art Center and POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) on November 5-9, 2008.

The venue will be sponsored by Daegu EXCO, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, World Steel Association and POSCO (Pohang Iron and Steel Company).

The International Steel Expo to be organized in Pohang, is foreseen to make a great contribution to the local development of the steel industry and to the revitalization of the local economy by hosting a steel exhibition on an international scale for the first time in the country's history.

The International Steel Expo is expected to include around 200 companies from 10 countries, while the number of the participants will be 150,000, including 500 foreign buyers.
