Peruvian iron ore production declines in July

Iron production output at Peruvian’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, declined 0.88 percent in July, year-on-year, according to figures released by the nation’s mines and energy ministry.

Despite growing in the year-on-year comparison, the country’s iron ore production declined 11.6 percent in the month-on-month analysis, reaching 646,275 mt, according to the government data.

Peru produced 4.85 million mt of the commodity in the January-July period, 0.4 percent up, year-on-year, the ministry said.
