Peruvian iron ore output up nearly 2 percent in 2015

Iron ore output at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Perú, rose 40.8 percent in December, and 1.8 percent in 2015, both on year-on-year, according to information released by the nation’s mining ministry.

According to government data, Shougang’s output in December was 477,582 mt, up from 339,197 mt in the same period of the year prior.

As for the whole year, from January to December 2015, Peruvian iron ore output rose nearly 2 percent, year-on-year, from 7.19 million mt in 2014 to 7.32 million mt in 2015.
