Peruvian iron ore output up 5.7 percent in January-February

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, was up by 4.9 percent year on year in February this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 667,313 mt of the commodity in February, up from 636,212 mt in the same month of 2016.
 
In the first two months of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 1.41 million mt, increasing by 5.7 percent year on year.
