Peruvian iron ore export prices recover in July

Peruvian iron ore export prices in July rose 20.2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s central bank (BCRP), reaching $27.3/mt, up from $22.7/mt in July 2016 and up from $26.3/mt in June this year.

The increase represents the start of a recovery in Peruvian iron ore export prices, which have been on a declining trend since January this year.

Peruvian iron ore export volumes in July totaled 1.1 million mt, up from 700,000 mt in July 2016 and stable from June this year.
