Peruvian iron ore export prices increase in March

Peruvian iron ore export prices in March rose 21.8 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s central bank, BCRP.
 
Government data indicated iron ore export prices rose to $41.3/mt in March this year from $33.9/mt in March 2016.
 
Despite the year-on-year increase, Peruvian iron ore export prices in March declined 5 percent, month-on-month, from $43.5/mt in February this year.
 
Average Peruvian iron ore export prices in Q1 this year was $44.3/mt. In Q1 2016, average iron ore export prices reached $32.9/mt.
 
Peruvian iron ore export volumes in March rose to 1.3 million mt, from 800,000 mt in March 2016, and from 700,000 mt in February this year.
