Peru’s iron ore production down 22.7 percent in Q1

In March this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 572,432 long tons (581,618 mt), decreasing 30.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 53.7 percent month on month, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry.

In the first quarter of the current year the country's total iron ore production was 1.47 million long tons (1.49 million mt), marking a fall of 22.7 percent compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
