Luxembourg-based plantmaker Paul Wurth has announced that it has received the final acceptance certificate from the Japanese steelmaker Sumitomo Metal Industries for the new coke plant in Kashima Steelworks, marking the first strategic reference for Paul Wurth in Japan.
The plant consists of 40 ovens producing 468,000 mt per year of coke. The daily output capacity of the plant is 1,121 mt of coke. The first coke was successfully produced on October 18, 2011.
According to Paul Wurth's statement, the most modern design tools and equipment were used in order to offer the best technological results in terms of emissions control.
