Panzhihua Steel meets rail steel goal

Through the first ten months, China’s Panzhihua Steel produced and delivered 506’700 metric tons of rail steel, achieving its annual production task two months ahead of schedule. While flat rolled prices fell continuously since the second quarter, demand for rail steel has remained strong thanks to the government’s ambitious rail projects. Thus, while Panzhihua’s more flat-focused peers have been under constant pressure as of late, China’s second-largest producer of rail steel is enjoying full order books and its prices are in a stable upward trend.
