Sichuan-based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group has issued its production results for the first four months of the current year. Accordingly, in January-April this year Pangang Group produced 3.1744 million mt of pig iron, 3.0317 million mt of crude steel and 176,000 mt of titanium concentrate, increasing by 324,800 mt, 203,200 mt and 2,400 mt year on year, respectively.

Pangang Group commented that the sluggish condition of the overall steel market and the decreased prices of its main products have posed a challenge for the company's operations. Against this background, the steelmaker has been focusing on reducing its costs.
