Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 4.9 percent in May

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 476,854 mt in May this year, increasing by 22.3 percent compared to April and up 4.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in May was $127.35 million, increasing by 10.4 percent month on month and up 11.6 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in May amounted to 435,023 mt, up 20.1 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 78.8 percent year on year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $215.98 million, increasing by 9.6 percent month on month and up 40.7 percent year on year.
