Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports down 9.9 percent in August

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 261,500 mt in August this year, decreasing by 1.2 percent compared to July and down 9.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in August was $64.98 million, increasing by 2.9 percent month on month and down 22 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in August amounted to 347,768 mt, up 35.3 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 17.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $186.14 million, increasing by 37.9 percent month on month and down 6.8 percent year on year.
