Finnish stainless producer Outokumpu has provided duplex stainless steel reinforcement bar (rebar) for a new Buddhist temple, under construction in Chounbri province in Thailand and scheduled to be completed in 2012.

According to an Outokumpu press release, engineers of the temple chose corrosion-resistant cost-efficient lean duplex LDX 2101® as the rebar grade to be used in the project.

Nick Tan, Outokumpu's Singapore-based specialist for the construction industry, said that the rebar delivery involved more than 90 different diameter and length combinations, numbers in excess of 22,300 pieces, a very tight length tolerance, and an exacting delivery schedule. The delivery was completed on time, he said.
