OneSteel’s Whyalla blast furnace breaks down

According to the statement released by Australian steel company OneSteel, the company's blast furnace in Whyalla mill broke down again this morning. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the same problem occurred at Whyalla blast furnace of the company in October. It is stated that the breakdown will affect iron and steel production for 10 days and a loss in the order of 35'000 tons. The company will contact with the customers to discuss how the impacts of the breakdown on the delivers may be eliminated. The financial cost of the breakdown will be around $10 million at the EBITDA level.
