OMK issues Jan-Aug production data of its subsidiaries

The Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced the production results for the first eight months of 2008 of its subsidiaries Tatarstan-based Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (ATZ) and Urals area-based Chusovoy Steel Works (Chusovoy).

Accordingly, during the first eight months of 2008, ATZ's total pipe production increased by 14 percent year on year to 104,374 mt, while its shipments amounted to 122,062 mt, showing a 13 percent increase compared to the same period of last year.

During the given period, Chusovoy recorded a four percent increase in its finished steel output to 305,200 mt, and a four percent rise in its crude steel production to 344,500 mt, both compared to the same period of last year.
