The Indian state of Odisha is expected to renew the iron ore mining licenses of 10 out of 26 local mines within two months, according to a Reuters report quoting an Indian government official saying the license renewal process will be expedited.

U.C. Jena, Odisha's deputy director for mines, told Reuters that the 10 mines expected to get their renewals within two months reported a combined iron ore production of 20 million mt in the last financial year ended on March 31.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in the past week India's Supreme Court announced a partial mining ban affecting 26 iron ore mines located in Odisha due to non-renewal of mining leases.
