Nucor announces July RMS

Nucor announced late Wednesday that its Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to rebars, merchant bars, and structural products, will increase by $8 /nt, effective with shipments July 1, 2006. The new RMS will be $116 /nt ($128 /mt or $5.80 cwt.). The net effect will be an $8 /nt ($9 /mt or $0.40 cwt.) increase for all new rebar, merchant bar and structural product orders. Nucor's July RMS for special bar quality products (SBQ) will be $8.75 cwt., an increase of $30 /nt ($33 /mt or $1.50 cwt.) from the previous month.
