Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Corp (NSSC), Japan's largest stainless steel producer, increased sales prices of its nickel series stainless cold rolled sheet and plate products by Yen 10,000/mt ($88/mt) for August/September deliveries due to rising nickel prices. Accordingly, the price of 300-series cold rolled sheets increased to Yen 375,000/mt ($3,271/mt) including alloy surcharge. This rise is the seventh consecutive monthly increase in the prices of subject products. Nippon Steel Corp holds an 80 percent stake in NSSC, while the remaining 20 percent is held by Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd.
